A big relief came for 80 employees of Tiger restaurant in Ba, Tavua and two Lautoka outlets as they have finally received their overdue wages after days of strike.

The pay also came in just in time for Christmas .

The strike, which began on Saturday, continued under the scorching sun as employees expressed frustration over the delayed payments, especially during the Christmas season.

A video circulating on social media captured the staff's anger and demands for their wages.

Tiger Restaurant General Manager Atish Chetty earlier stated that the delay was due to the company’s director being in police custody since Friday.

Minister for Employment Agni Deo Singh confirms that a team visited the restaurant today to look into the matter.

He says the delay stemmed from a dispute within the family business.
