Three arrested after fatal stabbing at Batinivuriwai Settlement in Wainunu, Bua

Three men are currently in police custody in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man at Batinivuriwai Settlement in Wainunu, Bua, early yesterday morning.

Police say they are continuing to gather statements from witnesses in the area.

Meanwhile, earlier reports indicated that the victim, whose identity has not yet been released, was involved in a violent altercation at the Batinivuriwai settlement bus shelter.

Police believe that the incident escalated into a brawl, during which the victim sustained a fatal stab wound to the chest.

The man was found lying by the roadside, and despite immediate efforts to rush him to the Wainunu Health Centre, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
