Thousands of people are still without water in some parts of Suva and Nasinu.

This comes after the generator at the Wainibuku Pump Station failed to automatically start upon power disruption.

Water Authority of Fiji says they are investigating why this had happened.

WAF says they are working around the clock to normalise water supply to customers in selected elevated parts of the Suva and Nasinu areas.

They say a series of unplanned electricity outages was experienced at their Wainibuku pump station.

It adds another unplanned electricity outage had impacted their Tovata booster pump.

People in the following areas will receive low pressure and or no water - Makoi, Kaliveitau, Veitata, Tovata Rd, Qaranivalu, Caubati Koro, Daniva, Niubalavu, Raikiwai, Niuvula, Niusawa Lane, Tacirua East, Cunningham, Khalsa Road, Wrong Turn, Sakoca, Upper Khalsa, Tacirua Heights, Nagatugatu residents living beside the Reservoir, Tamavua Koro, Upper Ragg, Deovji St, Amputch St,Princes Road, Seventh Day Church Dokanaisuva to Tacirua Fijian School, Vunuleba Settlement, Naisogo, Colo-i-Suva Crest Chicken, , Marshall Rd, Taqairua, Vunikawai, Uluibeka, Colanaivau, Valesasa, Naitaqiri Nillgrey.

Partial supply has been restored to areas supplied through Tacirua and Nagatugatu reservoirs with low areas starting to receive water while areas of Tacirua Heights, Sakoca and Savutalele are still awaiting restoration.

People facing water disruptions and require water carting assistance can contact WAF on 3346777 or 5777.
