Being island based is a bonus in your education as not only are you pursuing education but the things you learn while growing up on the island will be with you throughout your life.

President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere made these comments to the Yasayasa Moala College students who are on a 15-day tour of Viti Levu adding that life skills training for them is part of their everyday life as they grow up.

Ratu Wiliame says this tour around Viti Levu will open up their eyes and compliment what they have been learning in school so he encourages them to utilise it well and let it be a decider in the career they will pursue.

College Head Girl Joana Patricia says the trip is an opportunity to see for themselves places they have only read about in books and learned in school.

Patricia also says being island based, this trip will allow them to see the City and other areas that they have only read about and they hope they take back valuable knowledge to the island.

While here, they will take part in the Maritime Zone athletic meet which starts today and the Coca-Cola Games from Thursday to Saturday.
