Prime Minister and Minister for Forestry, Voreqe Bainimarama has clarified that there is no truth regarding a missing drone in Taveuni which was highlighted by National Federation Party MP, Lenora Qereqeretabua.

Bainimarama says the drone had malfunctioned during the Taveuni reserve survey operation and this was reported to the manufacturer who replaced it.

Qereqeretabua had earlier asked whether we have a missing drone in Taveuni that cost taxpayers a lot of money and that no one is being held responsible or has been surcharged for.

She had also asked whether we have 7.6 million real trees standing right now.

Bainimarama says out of the 7.6 million trees planted, 5.1 million are pine trees and almost one million are mahogany trees. He says the balance of 1.5 million are a combination of native, fruit and other high value commercial trees.
