The University of the South Pacific Laucala and Labasa campuses will remain open at this stage despite the ongoing impacts of Severe Tropical Cyclone Vaianu.

USP says its Lautoka Campus and Nadi Centre will remain closed today following the latest forecasts and warnings issued by the Fiji Meteorological Service.

They say the decision has been made by the USP Interim Management Group as heavy rain and flood warnings continue to affect parts of the country, particularly in the Western Division.

USP says the safety and wellbeing of its staff and students remain a priority.

Students and staff affected by flooding, transport disruptions or other weather-related issues are being advised to stay home where necessary and follow guidance from relevant authorities.

The University is also urging everyone to take necessary precautions and stay updated with official advisories as conditions continue to evolve.
