Acting Prime Minister and Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum

Acting Prime Minister and Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says there is a need to have standardized residential tenancy agreements.

While delivering his remarks during the closing of the Annual Attorney General's Conference, Sayed-Khaiyum says it is an area of law they are looking at revamping.

Sayed-Khaiyum says it needs to be specially stated what are the rights and obligations of tenants and landlords.

The Acting Prime Minister also says there are landlords whose rights are also being breached.

He adds as lawyers it is their responsibility to make things easier.

Sayed-Khaiyum says there are also plans to have a separate tribunal where disputes can be solved.
