Fiji Airway’s Men’s National 7s player, Jeremaia Matana's father, Benidito Matana says even though Fiji went down to Argentina 29-10 in the final of the Vancouver 7s, the people of Taveuni will always support the national sevens team.
Benidito says the people of Waitabu Village gathered in their village hall to support Jeremaia Matana and the Fiji 7s team.
He says some may be disappointed with the result, but the people of Cakaudrove will always support their players which includes Jerry Tuwai, Iowane Ratuciri, Pilipo Bukayaro, Jeremaia Matana, Ioane Teba and captain Tevita Daugunu.
Village members of Waitabu are still sitting in sheds sharing bowls of kava and appreciating the achievements of the team in Singapore and Vancouver.
