The captain of the Fiji Airways men’s national 7s team Josua Vakurunabili says the senior players are continuing to guide the eleven new players.

He says they continue to stress the importance of talking to each other on the field.

Vakurunabili says the new players need encouragement and need to be told that despite what happens on the field, they have to continue to move forward as a team.

He adds the new players have been doing well.

One of the new players Iowane Raturaciri was the hero for the Fiji Airways men’s national 7s team in their final pool match against Australia this morning as he scored the last try to secure a 17-12 win.

Raturaciri is the brother of Flying Fijian Frank Lomani.

He plays for Raiwasa Taveuni.

Another Raiwasa Taveuni player Iowane Teba scored two tries for Fiji in that match.

The win secured a cup quarterfinal against Kenya at 7:34 tonight.

Looking at the results of Fiji's other games, the national side beat France 24-17 and defeated Canada 29-14.

In the other quarterfinals, Argentina will face Ireland at 6:28 tonight, South Africa takes on Australia at 6:50 tonight and the USA will play Great Britain at 7:12 tonight.

The cup semifinals will start at 10.18 tonight while the final will be played at 3.26 tomorrow morning.
