The children in this Home are special and they deserve the best care and the kind donations like yours will ensure that we will continue our mission to provide these children with a place of love, protection, and opportunities to thrive in the future.

These were the words shared by the Assistant Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Sashi Kiran while receiving donations from Samaaj Sewa of Fiji USA at Dilkusha Home in Nausori.

She says everyone plays a role in making Fiji a better place for our children.

Kiran says after visiting the Home a week ago when she discovered the needs, she was concerned and meeting representatives of Samaj Sewa of Fiji USA was such a blessing and answers to the prayers.

The two desktops, a 30kg twin tub washing machine, a six burner gas stove and oven will assist the 23 children at the Dilkusha Home.

While speaking at the handing over event, Kiran says they are grateful to the donors, even though they have left Fiji to reside in USA, they continue to remember our children in need and raise funds to ensure they can provide support each year.

She says she is aware, for years the organisation has provided for school needs of children and this year since the Government has provided school support, the organisation has installed fans in school and supported in building a sea wall on Malake Island.

She further says that every child deserves a home and a family that loves, supports, and empowers them to be a better citizen of this country.

The Founder of the Samaaj Sewa of Fiji USA, Parma Nand Sharma says the Dilkusha Home has a well-deserved reputation for always looking for strategies to improve on the work and reach better outcomes for children.

He acknowledged the partners and members of the Samaaj Sewa of Fiji USA for making this donation a reality for the children in Dilkusha Home.

He has also reaffirmed their continuous support to the work of the Government of the day and assist the vulnerable in improving their lives.

Dilkusha Home Superintendent Deaconess Sereima Ukumoce Vosanibola acknowledged Assistant Minister Kiran for liaising and organizing the great donation with Samaaj Sewa of Fiji USA.

She says the timely assistance from Samaaj Sewa of Fiji USA will help the children to live in a caring environment and to become great leaders.
