Permanent Secretary for iTaukei Affairs Board Meleti Bainimarama

Permanent Secretary for iTaukei Affairs Board, Meleti Bainimarama reminded the people of the Province of Ra if they want more development in their province they have to complete the Integrated Village Development Plan.

While officiating at the opening of the Ra Provincial Council meeting at Nukuloa Village Hall in Ra, Bainimarama acknowledged the commitment made by the people of Ra in completing the first phase of the project, the Village Profiling Exercise.

Bainimarama says that both the village profiling exercise and the Internal Village Development plan are crucial exercises to determine the development needed for the province.

The Permanent Secretary also stressed the importance for youths to use their land to be their main source of livelihood so they can be occupied and prevent them from committing a crime.

Bainimarama says the government will provide assistance for these youths if they only take the first step.

He also stressed to the people of Ra the importance of filling the vacant chiefly titles that has been an ongoing issue in the past.

He says this has been a problem for them in providing assistance for the development of the province.
