It is a happy day for the Fiji Cancer Society as they will be able to provide more support and assistance to people suffering from cancer after receiving a cheque of $8,868 from the Hot Bread Kitchen.

While acknowledging the Hot Bread Kitchen, Fiji Cancer Society clinical nurse Karolina Tamani says cancer is everybody's business as it is an enemy that tries to snatch our mothers, sisters, wives, uncles, fathers and brothers of our family.

She says the funds donated to the Society from different donors are utilized to reach out to the people living with cancer, supply them with diapers, medicines, and basic care needs, and help them get their Visa when they are required to travel overseas, mobility devices and transportation.

Tamani further says each year around 50 men die from prostate cancer, therefore she calls on all Fijians to learn and understand that every individual has the power to change Fiji's cancer statistics through small, positive personal actions and lifestyle choices.

The Hot Bread Kitchen General Manager and Business Development Sales and Marketing Upasna Ben says this initiative is to assist the Cancer Society in providing patient support services and advocacy campaigns.

Meanwhile, Damodar Cinemas in conjunction with the Hot Bread Kitchen and Motibhai also hosted a high tea to raise funds on behalf of the Fiji Cancer Society at the Damodar Cinema Cine-lounge today.
