Telecom Fiji is seeking the assistance of the general public with identifying perpetrators responsible for the recent copper thefts in the Western Division.

They say a substantial reward will be offered to the individual whose report leads to an arrest of the perpetrators.

The company says as a 100% Fiji owned ICT company, they invest a vast majority of its resources in deploying and maintaining its copper infrastructure thus criminal acts of this nature not only proves costly for them but also results in the disruption of voice and data services causing inconvenience to its customers Fiji-wide.

Telecom Fiji adds if you have witnessed anyone behaving in a suspicious manner, find someone cutting or stealing Telecom cables or have information that can lead to the arrest of the perpetrators, please contact your nearest Police station or file a report with the Fiji Police Force Director CID on 9905618.

They add they are reminding people that stealing copper or any other Telecom asset is a criminal offence and those caught will be dealt with immediately in accordance with the law.
