19-year-old Team Fiji Swimming athlete David Young

19-year-old Team Fiji Swimming athlete David Young is proud to be representing Fiji in the Paris Olympics and vows perform to the best of his ability.

While speaking from the Games Village in Paris, Young says representing Fiji in swimming is just like the National rugby 7s team representing Fiji on the world stage.

He says the main challenge he had to overcome leading up to the Olympics was trying to balance his studies and his training.

Young will be participating in the 50 metres freestyle next Friday.

The Olympic Games will begin this Thursday with the men’s football and men’s rugby 7s competition.
