The 2025 Tailevu Rugby Union 10s Tournament Championship that will kick off this Saturday has been boosted after a $3,000 sponsorship from Taras Supermarket.

The sponsorship has seen Taras Supermarket named as the major sponsor of the tournament, and the sponsorship comprises $2,500 in cash and $500 in in-kind support.

Taras Supermarket Managing Director Amish Patel expressed deep appreciation for the opportunity to stand alongside the Tailevu Rugby community during this milestone event and says they look forward to continuing this working relationship.

He says for over four decades, Taras Supermarket has proudly served the people of Nausori and the wider Tailevu Province and they have grown with the community facing challenges and celebrating victories.

Patel says rugby in Tailevu is not just a sport, it is an identity, a unifier, and a force for development.

He adds this 10s tournament is more than a competition; it is a movement rooted in inclusivity, culture, and community, with both men’s and women’s teams participating right at the heart of their villages.

President of the Tailevu Rugby Union, Joseph Rodan Snr says Taras Supermarket investment reflects a shared belief in community development through sport.

He says as a gesture of appreciation, the Tailevu Rugby Union will ensure that each of their businesses receives appropriate exposure and recognition across their official social media platforms and other communications.

Rodan Snr says they see this not just as a sponsorship, but as a mutual partnership that strengthens both community spirit and business visibility.

The President also acknowledged their co-sponsors— Hussain Tabaraki Bread Shop, Glamada Investments, Be Pro Marketing, Veivueti Taxi and Nausori Meats, for their collective contribution and commitment to the success of the 2025 Tailevu Rugby Union 10s Tournament.

The 2025 Tailevu Rugby Union 10s Tournament Championship will be held this Saturday at Ratu Ravuama School Ground in Mokani and Nakelo District School Ground in Nakelo.
