Team Fiji judoka Tevita Takayawa lost to England in the bronze medal playoff this morning.

He had earlier lost to Shady Elnahas of Canada in the gold medal quarterfinal but went on to win against Deepak Deswal of India, 10-0 to book a place in the bronze medal final.

The 26-year-old says he did not prepare well as there were long pauses between the competitions.

He adds that overall, he did well and will take home the positives he has learnt from the tournament.

Meanwhile, the Men’s 4x100m Medley swimming team will compete in the final at 7.58 this morning.

In other results, Helen Anastasia Seipua finished in 9th place in the Women's 87+kg in weightlifting, Gerard Takayawa lost to Cyprus in his first match, the Women's Pairs lawn bowl team lost to England 19-13, and Semesa Naiseruvati lost to Carel Aron Olivier of Namibia in the Men’s single.
