Opposition Whip Lynda Tabuya has confirmed that SODELPA MP Mitieli Bulanauca has written to the Speaker of Parliament and has apologized for making serious allegations against the Prime Minister in Parliament last week.

Tabuya says it is now up to the Speaker Ratu Epeli Nailatikau to decide on the next step.

Bulanauca made serious allegations against Bainimarama regarding the events of 2000, and provided no proof.

When questioned by Fijivillage if any actions will be taken against Bulanauca, Opposition Leader Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu says the incident occurred inside the chamber and people should know how far an individual can go because they are protected.

Ratu Naiqama says they have addressed the issue internally but it is entirely up to the Speaker.
