Suva Rugby players share $20,000 bonus

Members of the Suva rugby team that won the Skipper Cup competition have been given their share of a $20,000 bonus.

Speaking at the Suva Rugby Christmas dinner, President Captain Humphrey Tawake says it has been a challenging year for Suva Rugby, with the COVID-19 pandemic and the continuous threat of natural disasters where some of their players had to leave for duty.

He says this did not affect their main aim which is to retain the title for the third year.

The President adds they hope that players who will remain with the team will continue to lift the standards of rugby in next year's competition.

Suva flanker Taniela Sadrugu was named the 2020 Suva Rugby Player of the Year while Fijian Drua centre Apisalome Vota was named the 2020 Suva Rugby Backline Player of the Year.
