Discussion about the 100-bed speciality hospital in Nasinu has progressed rapidly, and the Indian government is keen to accelerate and start the project as soon as possible.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad, highlighted this during fijivillage Straight Talk with Vijay Narayan when questioned whether Fiji needs another hospital as Fiji is talking to India about this.

Professor Prasad says teams from India have been visiting the country, and it will be a major development as the hospital will provide tertiary care to the people of Fiji and the Pacific.

He says the Australian government has also given funds to look at the feasibility and master plans for CWM Hospital.
