The Lelean Memorial School under 18 side has a lot of respect for their opponent, Suva Grammar School, but it will not stop them from fighting for a win in this weekend’s Vodafone Super Deans quarter finals.

While speaking to fijivillage Sports, Vice Principal Ulaiasi Vakatawakoula says they hold great respect for Grammar, acknowledging them as the top team from the Southern Zone division.

He says Grammar is a hard team to beat, but Lelean is going back to the drawing board to refine their basics, especially their decision-making, to align with their game plan.

Vakatawakoula says the team’s main strength heading into this weekend lies in their decision-making on the field.

While reflecting on their playoffs encounter against Bucalevu Secondary School, Vakatawakoula says they fought hard against their opponent and expects another fierce battle this weekend.

He says the motivation driving the team is the challenge of overcoming the best from the Southern Zone which gives them the push to try and topple Grammar this weekend.

He adds that they know it will be very challenging, but they will give their very best.

Lelean Memorial School will take on Suva Grammar School at 2pm in the second U18 quarter final at Churchill Park 1.

In other U18 quarter final matches this weekend, Cuvu will take on RKS at 12.40pm, Natabua High School faces Marist Brothers High School at 3.20pm while QVS will meet Nasinu Secondary School at 4.40pm.

All U18 matches will be played at Churchill Park 1.
