Fijian Singer Sumeet Tappoo is set to captivate music lovers with his new album ‘Dil Pareshan Karta Hai’, featuring seven original songs, all written by the legendary poet and lyricist, Gulzar.

Gulzar has won 5 Indian National Film Awards, 13 Filmfare Awards for Best Lyricist and shares an Oscar with A. R. Rahman for Best Original Song for "Jai Ho", for the film ‘Slumdog Millionaire’.

Tappoo says working with Gulzar is nothing short of a dream come true.

He says Gulzar stands as a towering figure in the realm of literature, widely regarded as one of the greatest poets of all time and his evocative words have resonated deeply with him, shaping his understanding and appreciation of poetry.

Tappoo says the opportunity to lend his voice to his profound and intricate verses is not merely a professional privilege but an honour that transcends words.

The award winning singer says engaging with his work allows him to connect with a legacy that has touched countless lives, making this experience both humbling and profoundly enriching.

Tappoo has hinted at a mix of musical styles within the album, showcasing his versatility as an artist.

This collaboration not only highlights the enduring legacy of Gulzar but also underscores Tappoo's rising prominence in the music industry.

The songs on the album have been composed by Pundit Bhavdeep Jaipurwale.

With this album, all three artists—Gulzar, Tappoo, and Jaipurwale aim to deliver an everlasting musical experience, a rarity in the modern digital age.

The album releases this Friday.
