Students, teachers and friends gathered in large numbers at Tilak High School Hall this morning to farewell two brothers, Shalvin and Shivneel Singh who drowned in the Dreketi River in Vuda, Lautoka last Friday.

Shivneel was a year 11 student and Shalveen a year 10 student at Tilak High.

It is alleged that 18-year-old Shivneel was trying to get the ball from the water and when he struggled to surface, 17-year-old Shalvin came to his assistance where both of them drowned.

While giving the eulogy, Tilak High Principal Vinod Kumar Sharan says both brothers were hardworking, honest and carried out the tasks diligently.

Sharan says the brothers always had smiles on their faces and they all can’t imagine that Shalvin and Shivneel are no more.

They will be cremated at Lovu cemetery in Lautoka this hour.
