A strong second-half performance by Moana Pasifika helped them come from behind to beat the Waratahs 45-28 in their Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific clash at North Harbour Stadium this afternoon.

Tighthead prop Feleti Sae-Ta’ufo’ou scored a hat-trick of tries in the match while uprising star flyhalf Patrick Pellegrini scored 15 points through a try and 5 conversions.

The Tahs took a comfortable 21-7 lead at the break through two converted tries from winger Triston Reilly and one converted try to Andrew Kellaway.

Moana Pasifika started their onslaught early in the second half and went on to score 38 more points through tries from Sae-Ta’ufo’ou, Semisi Tupou Ta’eiloa, Pellegrini, William Havili and Fine Inisi.

This is Moana Pasifika’s third win of the season and has seen them move up into 8th place with 15 points.

In other matches played already, the Chiefs overcame the Reds 27-15 last night.

Meanwhile, the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua vs the Crusaders match will kick off in a few minutes.

There will be a moment of silence observed before the kick-off of this match in remembrance of VITIFM’s iconic personality, Maikeli Radua, who has been laid to rest today at his village in Waikete, Tailevu.
