Starting blocks will be optional - Waqa

The use of starting blocks will be optional at Secondary Schools Zone Athletics meets that will be staged at the ANZ Stadium.

This was stated by Coca Cola Games Organizer Vuli Waqa who says the starting blocks will be available for athletes who wish to use it.

Waqa says the surface of the tracks is so thin that starting blocks won’t work.
