Digicel Fiji and Sai Prema Foundation donated food supplies to St Minas Children’s Home in Nadi last week.

A home which cares for 23 orphans is asking the community and those organisations who can assist, to come forward and help them in providing for the children as they are struggling to put food on the table everyday due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Manager of St Minas Children’s Home in Nadi, Father Jon Abdelmalek says the children’s age range from 2 to 16 years.

He says the home is under the Coptic Orthodox Church in Australia but due to the COVID-19 restrictions, visitation from members of the church has been halted and this has impacted their services.

Father Jon says they need consistent supply of basic food items and some building materials.

He says they are thankful to Digicel Fiji, Fiji Airways and Sai Prema Foundation for donating food supplies and other necessary materials for the past few weeks. He says this has enabled them to look after these children however they need continuous assistance.

Meanwhile, Digicel Fiji has committed themselves to provide ration packs for the next couple of months.
