Residents in Sigatoka continue to face constant water outages for four straight days now, leaving many helpless and questioning why hotel areas have water while they do not.
Malaqereqere resident Radhika Devi told fijivillage News that the water supply remains disrupted, with Water Authority of Fiji workers informing residents that maintenance works are ongoing and causing the disruptions.
Devi says areas with hotels continue to receive a normal water supply, while certain residential areas continue to struggle.

The resident says this has been a persistent issue for years, but the situation has now worsened.
She says they experience water outages lasting from six to 11 days at a time, and it is frustrating that their concerns are not being addressed.
She says there are children in her family who attend school, and it is unfair that they have to face these conditions.
Devi is calling on the Government to step in and look into the matter, saying families need reliable access to water as they continue to struggle without it.
Meanwhile, the Minister for Public Works Ro Filipe Tuisawau has responded to an Opposition MP’s email regarding the water crisis faced by thousands of residents in Sigatoka, confirming that he is looking into the Sigatoka water supply issue.
We have sent questions to the Ministry of Public Works and the Water Authority of Fiji as they remain silent.
