St. Joseph’s secures gold in Junior Girls 4×100m relay after Suva Grammar disqualification

The Junior Girls 4×100m relay gold medal in the Coca Cola Suva Zone 2 Athletics Competition has been awarded to St. Joseph’s Secondary School, which originally finished second in the race after Suva Grammar School was disqualified for crossing lanes during the baton exchange from the second to the third interchange.

Grammar was leading the track in this race.

The runners for St Joseph’s are Veronica Traill, Annastashia Tamanikaibau, Losalini Maladroka and Tiara Koroi.

The silver medal was awarded to Vashist Muni College, while the bronze went to Gospel High School.

Looking at other 4×100m results, Grammar won both the Sub-Junior grades, Marist won the Junior Boys, the Intermediate Girls went to Grammar, and Marist won the Boys grade.

The 4x100m Senior Girls went to Grammar and Marist won the boys relay final.

Meanwhile, Marist Brothers High School currently lead the Boys division with 20 gold, 16 silver and 17 bronze, Grammar is second with 9 gold, 8 silver and 7 bronze, while Jai Narayan College is third with 2 gold and 2 bronze.

In the Girls division, Grammar is leading with 15 gold, 12 silver and 9 bronze, St Joseph's Secondary School is second with 10 gold, 11 silver and 13 bronze, while Nuku Secondary School is third with 2 gold and 2 silver.
