Sports has been identified as a major remittance earner for the country and many sports personnel have seen its benefit while playing their trade overseas.

While speaking at Namosi Secondary School during the U19 Vakacirisalusalu, Minister of Youth and Sports Jese Saukuru highlights the importance of formal and informal education and the benefits it has in our nations.

Sakuru encourages students to pursue their dreams in their respective sports and maximize their potential for a secure future, and use sports to advocate against the use of drugs in sports and for leisure and let us all contribute to a sporting future free of drugs in any form.

He says active participation and engagement at the community level are also important elements towards youth empowerment.

Saukuru says choosing the right path, hard work, and dedication leads one to a successful and fruitful life.

The school principal shared his appreciation to the Minister saying that this was a historical event for the school as this was the first time that a government Minister has visited the school.

Minister for Local Government and Housing Maciu Nalumisa and the Permanent Secretary of Youth and Sports Rovereto Nayacalevu were also present at this event.
