The boys and girls Under-15 Fiji National basketball teams are ready to take part in the Oceania Cup and the girls cannot wait for their first match against Cook Islands today in Canberra.

This was highlighted by their Team Manager Benedito Qumi as both teams prepare for the games.

Qumi says the team left yesterday and they are settling in well.

He says the FIBA Competition includes countries like Fiji, Australia, Guam, Samoa, Cook Islands, New Caledonia, Tahiti, New Zealand and Tonga.

Qumi says Fiji will battle eight neighboring nations from the Pacific region for Oceania glory and Asia Cup qualification.

The girls team is currently playing Cook Islands.

The Fiji U-15 boys team will play Guam at 9am tomorrow.

The tournament ends on Saturday at the Australian Institute of Sports in Canberra.
