South African 7s star Rosko Specman will be the McDonald’s Coral Coast 7s ambassador for the 2026 tournament in Sigatoka.
Tournament Communications Manager Randall Kamea says Specman’s return in 2026 is not only as a fan favourite but also as a Rugby Town Walk of Fame inductee, joining an elite group of international rugby greats honoured in Sigatoka the home of Fijian rugby.
He says Specman will make his return to Fiji following his unforgettable debut at the 2025 tournament, where he featured for the Mike Friday Select 7s side.
Kamea says Specman’s dynamic play and vibrant personality won over Fijian fans last year, and his role as ambassador adds even greater excitement to next year’s tournament.
Specman says he fell in love with Fiji during his first visit, describing the people, culture, and passion for rugby as absolutely incredible.
He says it’s a real privilege to be back as the Coral Coast 7s ambassador and to be part of something that truly celebrates the spirit of rugby in such a special way.
Tournament Founding Chairman Jay Whyte says Specman embodies the very essence of the Coral Coast 7s skill, humility, and the joy of rugby.
Whyte says his energy and professionalism, both on and off the field, make him an outstanding ambassador for the event and the sport itself.
He adds that the 2026 McDonald’s Coral Coast 7s will once again feature elite men’s, women’s, and youth teams from around the world, showcasing world-class rugby talent and Fijian hospitality along the stunning Coral Coast.
The tournament will be held from 15th to 17th January 2026.
