World 7s Series leaders, South Africa, survived a late scare from the Canada 7s side to win their second pool match 19-14 at the Vancouver 7s.

Two tries from South Africa in the first half through JC Pretorius and Ronald Brown gave the series leaders the lead at the break.

After the break, the Canadian side scored two converted tries to take the lead 14-12 with 3 minutes left.

South Africa managed to recover the ball after Canada was penalised for holding onto the ball inside their 22 metre-line, giving the defending Vancouver 7s champions another chance.

Selvyn Davids showed his class and experience by scoring a try in the 13th minute, sealing the Blitzboks' victory.

South Africa's final pool match is against Australia at 1.33pm today.

The Cup quarterfinals will start at 5.40am tomorrow, the semifinals will start at 9.44am tomorrow while the Cup final will be played 12.58pm tomorrow.
