Fiji Airways Fiji National 7s Coach, Osea Kolinisau says some of the boys came back from their Christmas and New Year’s break a bit rusty and they are now working on getting their defence right.

Kolinisau says unfortunately they did not stick to their processes.

He says the past two days training has been about getting their defence in shape and understanding the roles each of them plays.

Kolinisau says they also topped up on their fitness.

The Fiji 7s extended squad are currently preparing for McDonald’s Coral Coast 7s next week.

However, 8 players from the extended 7s squad have been included in Mike Friday’s Select 7s team.

The players selected to line up beside Jerry Tuwai, Rosko Specman, Harry McNulty, Luke Treharne, Alexandre Odinga and Matai Leuta are Viliame Naikausa, Rubeni Kabu, Suliano Volivoli, Jope Tikomailepanoni, Iliavi Masori, Sakiusa Siqila, Rauto Vakadranu, and Alipate Biu.

The Coral Coast 7s is from next Thursday to Saturday at Lawaqa Park.

The national 7s team for HSBC Perth 7s will be named after Coral Coast 7s.

Perth 7s is from the 24th to the 26th of this month.
