Skill training organised by the Foundation for Rural Integrated Enterprises & Development (FRIEND Fiji) in partnership with the Ministry of Youths has empowered youths to do better.

This was highlighted by Aliposo Nainima of Naikoroni Village in Dawasamu, Tailevu after completing the three-day skills training organised at Dawasamu.

The 24-year-old says the first time he heard about FRIEND Fiji was when he represented his youth club in the training session.

Nainima says youths learned how to make coconut oil and soap using herbs, fruits, sweet-smelling flowers and roots and adds that he now has ideas on how to generate income from natural resources.

He hopes that such training will continue for the youths in his area.

Six youth clubs participated in the skills training program.
