Shortage of skilled workers, the cost of importing workers, the cost of most materials and concrete has increased resulting in an increased cost of construction which could also be raising property prices.

This has been highlighted by Construction Industry Council President, Gordon Jenkins who says there has been a major exit of skilled workers which has left a vacuum and that is being filled by people who are not skilled enough to do the job.

The President says the industry is not spending a lot of money to get better skills but it is spending money to maintain a situation however, these imported workers have a better work ethic.
