Seselja thanks frontline healthcare workers at Lautoka Hospital and says their efforts have seen lives saved

Australian Minister for International Development and the Pacific, Senator Zed Seselja today met with frontline healthcare workers at Lautoka Hospital to hear of their experiences and thank them for their efforts in responding to the outbreak of COVID-19.

Seselja told the frontline healthcare workers that their efforts have seen lives saved.

He says during the crisis he regularly communicated with Health Minister Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete on how they can deal with the crisis adding that he was getting regular updates.

Seselja further says they will be in constant discussions with the Fijian Government as to how they can continue to support Fiji.

He also paid his condolences to the lives that were lost due to COVID-19.

Seselja also met with CEO of Fiji Airways Andre Viljoen and Fiji Airways senior executive team.

Discussions focused on Australia’s longstanding relationship with Fiji Airways and support of Fiji’s safe resumption of international travel from 1 December. The meeting also included a presentation of the new Fiji Airways Customer Relationship Management System which has been supported by the Australian-funded Market Development Facility.
