Farmers in Serua and Namosi have begun receiving essential agro-inputs, including dalo and ginger planting materials, as the Ministry of Agriculture and Waterways rolls out this year’s assistance programme across the Central Division.

The Ministry says officers have been distributing supplies to farmers selected for support.

Senior Agriculture Officer for Serua and Namosi, Inosi Vulawalu says the assistance has been highly anticipated.

He says farmers rely on this support to improve their productivity and livelihoods, and it is always encouraging to see their enthusiasm and dedication to farming.

He adds under the Flatland Development Programme, farmers also received vegetable seeds to help diversify crop production and strengthen household food security.

The initiative encourages small-scale farmers to grow a wider range of vegetables to supplement their main crops and generate additional income.
