The Savuiqali Under 21 7s team are taking every learning they can and hoping to build on it at the 48th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s tournament that kicked off this morning.

Coach Samei Sirilo says even though they lost their first game against defending champions Dominion brothers, they are still positive of making amends and getting better in their next few games ahead of them.

The Savuiqali team from Naidi Village in Savusavu, Cakaudrove are participating in just their second Marist 7s tournament and Sirilo says they are taking every step at a time.

Sirilo says they faced some challenges coming into this tournament especially with retaining some of their players after some of their key players have joined other teams but it did not deter their spirits.

He says they are going back to the drawing board and look at some of their mistakes they did in the first game, especially with their set pieces and they are going to try and improve on it.

Savuiqali lost 12-0 to Dominion Brothers and will be taking on Jet Set Nadi in their second pool match of the Under 21 competition.

In other U21 matches that has been played, Bure Brothers beat Korolevu Brothers 22-0, Village Boys beat Nuku 10-0, Coral Coasters defeated EMS Tabadamu 10-0, PSM Aflame Brothers beat AJ Pallets Ba River 17-7, Marist won by default over Naikoro Babaas and Aloha Taveuni defeated Seekadah Babaas 15-5.
