The heroic act of Ravinasaga Saukarasa has given new lease of life to three fishermen from Natabua, Lautoka who were desperately hanging onto their boat which capsized near Vomo Island yesterday morning.
A video has gone viral on social media where Saukarasa is seen rescuing three men by quickly diving into the sea with his snorkelling gear.
He first saved an elderly man who was very weak and could barely hold on to the capsized boat.
Saukarasa who is from Lautoka was returning from Namara in the Yasawa Group with his family when he came across the three fishermen who needed urgent help.
Saukarasa later found out that the elderly man used to be his landlord in Tomuka.
