People are being reminded to think about the poor and less fortunate, including those admitted to hospitals or unable to celebrate Diwali due to illness or difficult circumstances, and to share the joy of Diwali with them.

While speaking to fijivillage News, Shree Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji National President, Dhirendra Nand says this is the time to come together as one community, to share joy, a strengthened bond and embrace the unity, and inclusivity that defines us as a nation, as a community and as a family.

He is also reminding people to pray for the young family that lost their life in the fire in Miegunyah, Nadi last week.

Nand says there were a lot of obstacles this year but they have overcome them.

Nand further says that this Diwali, they have collaborated with the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission to promote a sustainable, or “green,” Diwali.

He says they have pledged to protect the environment, care for their health, and encourage people to be mindful of what they eat and how they go about their day.

Meanwhile, Laxmi Puja will be aired on Radio Sargam at 6.20pm today.

Govardhan Puja will be marked tomorrow while Bhai Duj is on Thursday.
