Saifiti brothers in Knights line-up against the Raiders tonight

The Saifiti brothers, Jacob and Daniel, who have links to Fiji, have been named in the Newcastle Knights squad that will take on the Canberra Raiders tonight in Round 1 of the NRL competition.

Jacob Saifiti will start at prop while his brother Daniel is on the interchange squad.

Other prominent players in the Knights run-on team include Kalyn Ponga, Dane Gagai, Tyson Gamble, Tyson Frizell, Dylan Lucas and Adam Elliot.

The Raiders have also named a formidable side with Ethan Strange starting at the No.6 jersey, while Jordan Rapana is at fullback in place of suspended Seb Kris.

23-year-old Morgan Smithies will make his NRL debut as part of the run-on side.

The Knights will take on the Raiders at 9 tonight.

In other NRL matches this week, the Warriors will meet the Sharks at 7pm tomorrow, the Storm will face the Panthers at 9.05pm tomorrow, the Eels will play the Bulldogs at 6.30pm Saturday, the Titans will take on the Dragons at 8.35pm Saturday, and the Dolphins will meet the Cowboys at 5.05pm Sunday.
