He says following the study of the recommendations of the panel that was set up to make recommendations on the appointment of the Commissioner of Police, the Commission today agreed that he should nominate Tudravu as the Commissioner of Police.

Rabuka says the President has agreed with his recommendation, and the COC decided in accordance with the selection panel's recommendation that Tudravu has the skills needed for the role of Commissioner of Police.

He adds Mike Bush, a former Commissioner of Police of New Zealand, will also be embedded at the headquarters here as a mentor for the new Commissioner.

The Prime Minister also confirmed that former Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew will be the Deputy Commissioner of Police.
