Leading is not about just standing upfront and giving orders to everyone but working together with others.

This was Mahatma Ghandi Memorial High School’s Head Boy Abinash Rout’s sentiment after being selected as the school’s Head Boy.

Rout who was born in India before moving to Fiji with his parents says it is an honor for him to be given the role and to be working with other elected prefects this year.

He says with the inclusion of other extra-curriculum activities to their school’s calendar this year, it will be their aim to achieve goals set not only in academic but also in other sectors and areas that the school participates in.

Head Girl, Ulita Koro says it is such an immense pleasure to be handed this role for a well-known institution.

Koro says she was shocked when she was elected because she knew there were other capable students who would have been selected but she was honored to be given this opportunity to lead.

There were 187 elected prefects that were inducted today.
