Roshika Deo the recipient of the 2014 United States Secretary of State’s International Women of Courage Award today renounced and returned her award to the United States Government because of her stand that they are supporting and funding the Gaza genocide.

While returning at the US Embassy, Deo says it is against her moral conscience to keep this award because it defeats the purpose of the award.

Deo says when she was informed that she had been given the International Women of Courage Award with many other amazing women from around the world, it filled her with inspiration and encouragement.

She says she never imagined that in her lifetime she would be seeing this brutal level of massacre, destruction, and violation.

Deo says the award made her proud but today it brought her shame.

She also calls on other women who won similar awards to renounce and return them.
