Roko Ului did not attend the GCC meeting - GCC Chair

Lau chief and former military officer, Ratu Tevita Uluilakeba Mara, commonly known as Roko Ului, did not attend the Great Council of Chiefs meeting on Bau Island.

This was confirmed by the GCC Chair and Minister for iTaukei Affairs Ifereimi Vasu, who said that Ratu Tevita was not part of the meeting yesterday.

Vasu says the information that he has was that Ratu Tevita was expected to come at 11 o'clock, but he hasn't seen him on the island.

He says Roko Ului was in the list to attend the meeting but he did not come.

Roko Ului was seen yesterday on the island of Bau.

He and his delegates presented their i-tatau to the Tunitoga, Jack Aisea Komaitai before departing the island.

Ratu Tevita refused to take any questions when we approached him on Bau Island yesterday.
