Turaga na Roko Tui Bau, Ratu Timoci Tavanavanua

Turaga na Roko Tui Bau, Ratu Timoci Tavanavanua says Vanua leaders must be forceful and vocal in their leadership with relation to solving the issues such as drugs, domestic violence, and numerous other issues involving children.

While speaking to fijivillage News, Ratu Timoci says the values of loyalty, obedience, and respect have vanished as times have changed.

He says everything begins at home and these children sense that love exists outside of their homes and desire to remain on the streets.

He says he instills in his family the values of setting objectives, prioritizing God, and fostering an environment that is conducive to their academic, physical, and spiritual well-being.

While commending the Turaga na Tui Suva Ratu Sanaila Madanavosa for his decision to banish anyone found with drugs from the village, Ratu Timoci says if people are not reforming then there is no other option for leaders but to firmly push this problem out of the community.

The Roko Tui Bau stresses that the government must work in collaboration with the churches, the Vanua and all other relevant institutions.

He adds this is an issue that requires education to be strengthened at the individual household level.
