All Blacks halfback Cameron Roigard has been ruled out of the opening two tests of the Rugby Championship against Argentina after suffering a fracture in his right foot.
New Zealand Rugby confirms that Roigard experienced foot pain following the end of the recent three-test series against France and underwent scans that revealed the injury.
He will miss the matches against the Pumas in Cordoba and Buenos Aires on August 16th and 23rd. His return to play will be assessed in two weeks.
The All Blacks are also without Noah Hotham, who is recovering from a high ankle injury sustained during the third test against France in Hamilton. Hotham is expected to undergo surgery.
This leaves Cortez Ratima as the only fit halfback, with selectors now needing to find a suitable back-up for the South American leg.
The Rugby Championship kicks off on August 17th with South Africa facing Australia at 3.10am, followed by the All Blacks' clash with Argentina at 9.10am.
