Ritesh Dass appointed as new Basic Industries Limited CEO and Naibuka Saune to lead Merchant Finance

Former Permanent Secretary for Agriculture, Ritesh Dass is the new CEO for Basic Industries PTE Limited, a Subsidiary of Fijian Holding Limited.

The Public Service Commission announced Dass’ resignation last week.

Fijian Holding Limited says his immediate task is to turn around the Basic Industries Limited Group which includes Standard Concrete and Humes Industries.

Meanwhile, Tanya Nacagilevu is the new Group Manager Human Resources.

FHL says she has held previous roles as the Regional Human Resources Director for Digicel Central, Regional Transformation Officer for Digicel Pacific and Head of HR Digicel Fiji.

The Group has also appointed Naibuka Saune as the CEO for Merchant Finance PTE Ltd.

He replaces Rowena Fong.

FHL says he is currently the Head of mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance investment management, strategy and direct funds management.

He has previously worked at Fiji National Provident National Fund as an Investment Consultant and at various financial firms in Sydney Australia.

Meanwhile, FHL Group Chairman, Yogesh Karan says the COVID-19 pandemic has exposed areas of opportunities and improvements in the Group and their recovery will be driven largely by having the right people in strategic positions.

He says these new appointments are being made to ensure that these companies performances are enhanced immediately and remain pillars for the FHL Group performances into the future.
