Reverend Dr. Semisi Turagavou

Reverend Dr. Semisi Turagavou has been elected as the new President of the Methodist Church of Fiji.

Methodist Church of Fiji Secretary for Communications, Reverend Wilfred Regunamada says Rev Turagavou was the Church's General Secretary and was unanimously elected to take up the President's post.

Rev Regunamada says Rev Turagavou will start in his role as President on 1st January 2024.

While speaking after being elected to the President's role, Rev Turagavou says he will continue with the strategic plan that was in place within the Church, which includes education, evangelism, and the economic sustainability of the church.

He says he would also want to strengthen their relationship with other denominations and other religious bodies within Fiji and abroad.

He adds that building relationships is very important.

Rev Joji Qaranivalu remains as the Vice President, while the new General Secretary will be announced tomorrow.
