The Minister for Employment Agni Deo Singh has reminded employers of the restoration of 18 percent FNPF contribution by employers and employees with immediate effect.

Singh says this was part of the Fiji Government’s commitment in its 2023-2024 budget address in restoring workers’ rights.

He says all workers are to monitor and ensure that deductions are being made to their FNPF accounts as required.

The Minister says if not implemented, workers are advised to report the matter to any nearest FNPF Office nationwide.

He reiterates the reduction in rate was due to COVID-19 and the full restoration to 18 percent was to ensure that retirement benefits through FNPF are adequate.
