Good news as people from South Taveuni and Vuna will no longer need to travel up to 30 kilometres to lodge complaints regarding their issues as a new Police Post will be built at Navaca Junction in Taveuni this year.

Divisional Police Commander North Senior Superintendent of Police, Kemueli Baledrokadroka confirmed this to fijivillage News earlier this week.

The Qarawalu Advisory Councillor, Joytika Nand had raised concerns about not having a nearby police post when they have issues like drug-related offences and stealing of dalo and yaqona.

Nand says it breaks their hearts when they work hard on their farms doing planting and cleaning and they do not benefit through the profits due to the thefts.

SSP Baledrokadroka says the Police Force will fund the new Police Post.

He adds that they expect it to be ready by this year.
